I have been making regular backups of my media for a long time. Yesterday I installed brothers in arms the road to hill 30 and today I have had nothing but problems with my DVD burner playing discs and especially copying them, I have tried to copy my daughters Nanny Mc Phee 3 times today and every time I have had an error with Nero Recode failing to read when I have had no errors before. I contacted starforce who listed a link to the copy protection removal tool which I ran and rebooted my pc and now all is fine again as power DVD accessed the DVD within seconds of it loading where as before the removal it was taking up to a minuet and the first copy I have made since the removal has encountered no errors. PPL PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE! IF YOU ARE GETTING SLOWDOWNS OF YOUR OPTICAL DEVICES AND BURNING ERRORS IT MAY BE THE COPY PROTECTION USED ON THIS TITLE.

I heard that Hill 30 also had Starforce on it. But if you want to meet a group of guys who are really anti-Starforce head on over to the Silent Hunter 3 forums on subsim.com. These guys are hardcore realism gamers and they also know alot about their rigs and software and the like. Starforce is a malicious and totally irresponsible copy protection software which Ubi is doling out these days. It does have an impact on your optical drive while sometimes the issues can be minor but it can also be as dangerous for your computer as any virus. Be warned when dealing with any games with Starforce associated with them. I could go on forever about this and trash alot of different companies and the whole concept of intellectual property and so on and so forth but I'll save that for a thread which is really interested in philosophical debate. Here we need the practical stuff and that is: Beware of Starforce.
