Will a DSL connection and a linux and or Freebsd work for a server. I have a static ip and freebsd running as a web/email server? Please let me know the requirements.

A bit late but if GR runs in WineX then I don't see why GR as a dedi server would not.

There is no Linux server version which is something UBI has not caught onto yet, wish they would... there would be GR servers everywhere!!

I run a W2K machine on 512/512 DSL conection and have served and played with 12 players with little to no lag. Only 10 of those where coming in on the ADSL though.
