Hi.

I poked around in the various menu's, but didn't see an option for this. The music is really cool, but after a few hours of hearing it over and over again, I'm ready for a change. Would love to be able to listen to my own music while playing.

So is there a way to disable the background music? But maybe leave the alert "ding" you get when you have a message still on?

I tried searching, but my Google-Fu is weak.

Thanks in advance for your time!!

Having played the game for years,I never had the music on,and the yipeeeees drove me crazy after a few minutes.I dont think there is a way in game to turn it off,but thats just off the top of my head.

In the Config folder there is a line for music

MusicEnabled = 1

You could try setting it to 0 then save it

If that doesnt work then Im not sure what else you could try.

When in the game there is the option to use User's Own Music, so I wonder if you can copy some of your own cds into the Snd/User directory of Settlers 4.

I remember that it can be done to use your own music, but the forum where there were instructions is nonexistant now.
