As is typical with titles with DRM, my new Settlers 2 10th anniversary DVD will not install in my virtualized Windows environment. I am aware there is a "pirate crack", but I would like to know if BlueByte or Ubisoft have plans to release an official patch that removes the DRM from this wonderful game so that folks can keep playing it on hardware and software of the future (via virtualization, Wine, etc.)

I did a ISO-file from the disc just because I don't have a CD-drive om my eee.
And I can't even install the game, it's probably because of some protection. I hate this crap. |

you honestly think a eee PC would run games (even if it did have a cd drive) these are just dirt cheap netbook's meant for nothing more than searching the internet or doing maybe a bit of word processing.
even real laptops struggle with games so something designed to be a dirt cheap entry level device meant mainly for the internet will never run much. if you want to play games on a PC/Laptop you need to expect to pay for it as you cant just use any old rubbish to run games. |
