I am in Mission 2 and am to the point where I need to recruit soldiers. I've built the barracks and swordsmith and there is an iron mine within my territory - two actually. How do I get the mines to produce? I've built trails from the mines to the main road. I've made sure the swordsmith as the food/clothes he needs. I even built a second swordsmith right near the mine. What else do I have to do? THANK YOU!

you need to build a hut that collects the iron near the iron mines, they should be in the same menu as the wood/stone gatherers hut.
