hi, When playing settlers 4 I want to set the resolution to 1280x1024, but I cant.
In the tutorials I am allowed to change it, but 800x600 is always marked as the current resolution, clicking 1280x1024 or 1024x768 doesnt make a diffrence. In other singleplayer games the entire resolution menu is grayed out. Anyway I can fix this?
I have the latest patc (2.50) btw and im running on vista 64bit, compability mode doesnt help.
It was just a long shot,I havent seen that problem before. When players have had problems before with greyed out buttons in the lobby,I have always told them to load the game and right at the start, choose reinstall.Thats solved their problem, but I dont know if it would help you though.
Dont uninstall before doing this just select the reinstall, other than that I truthfully dont know what else to suggest you to try.
I've got the same problem as Orion3200, I can't choose the highest res either. I've got well enough hardware to run the game with in high res, but somehow the buttoms are greyed out. I also have the 64-bit Win Vista.
Now to the point; I've tried to reinstall the game but that doesn't work. Now I don't know what to do but to play the game on my notebook which has a 32-bit Win Vista..
I just recently installed settlers 4 and patched it, and I have the same problem...I can't change the resolution to anything higher than the default 800x640. F2-F4 don't work and the resolution buttons are greyed out in single player, while in tutorials they aren't greyed out but don't do anything. I'm running vista 32-bit on a laptop with graphics card ATI HD3650 (maybe could be an ATI issue?)
Had the same problem running Vista x64. I wasn't able to change resolution ingame, all buttons were grayed out.
After a lot of mucking about this is what fixed the problem for me: 1. Open the file 'Settlers IV\Config\GameSettings.cfg' (use notepad) 2a. For 1280x1024 resolution set the following value's
