You have to run the fileconvert.exe program before you start Settlers3 with the new patch.

I have your game that I get from PC WOLRD and when I put it in my computer it well not let me load it as it well not go to install on the last that come up on the dices that i have get so I can play the game on my computer at home.

I have the same problem. I love S3 and I did not know there would be a problem with XP.
Can anyone help me? I have installed the patch given by pennyuk, but that does not help.

Unzip it into your s3 folder,when asked overwrite press yes to all

You then need to run the patch by double clicking on it

Have you tried first upgrading to version 1.6 available on the official website, then applying this patch?

i have a problem, i upgraded the s3:qota with the 1.60 version and xp patch version, then i run the game and when i want to play single player scenario games i cant because the game itself returns me a message that my cd serial or so is not original
are there some cracks or what to fix this problem

Hi pennyuk, sorry to be another person to bother you about this patch but I have S3 Gold and love it but it won't play on XP. I found a patch but when it did the file convert it just kept on looping and not opening the game. If you have a patch for S3 Gold please could you mail it to me, I would be so grateful.

Or if anyone else knows how to get S3 Gold to work on XP please, please help...

The same problem occured with Hotmail,it wont accept the .exe file.

I have searched online and found this site with the XP patch on to download,there were a few shady sites,but HackBird is a Settlers player,so I suggest you try to download it from his site.

Click on Weiter and this will open another page

You need the download at the bottom right s3 zip

Try this and let me know how you go with it
Unzip it to your s3 main folder.It will ask do you want to over write the old files click yes to all.
