I finally managed to get Eastern Realm...it was not available in NZ so got it from the UK. I installed it only to find it would not play from the disk, I now know you need to put the original ROE disk in to play, but before I knew that I uninstalled Eastern Realm. Now when I try to install it it comes up with "Uninstallation information corrupt. Installation cannot proceed"
What do I need to do to fix this, after waiting so long for this expansion I am shattered!

Unfortunately the uninstaller for Eastern Realms is bugged, you really should have looked at the readme file, this is a rough translation of a post on the German site.

MPORTANT INFORMATION:

"Due to an error - which unfortunately can not be fixed - in the "THE SETTLERS - Rise of an Empire" AutoRun Tool, the installed game including "THE SETTLERS - Rise of an Empire - The Eastern Realm" or other updates, gets corrupted when uninstalling it via the AutoRun Menu of the main game. To avoid this problem, uninstall the game using the "Software" dialog of your operating system."

Workaround:

To completely remove the game from your System, there are 3 steps you should take:

1) Delete the uninstall key from the "Uninstall Information" folder.
So, go to C:\Program Files\Uninstall Information and delete the {A8200008-BE06-4C26-BB8D-717FE18F74B7} folder completely.


2) Delete these 2 keys from the Windows registry (if they exist):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\The Settlers 6\Extra 1]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{A8200008-BE06-4C26-BB8D-717FE18F74B7}]


3) Delete the complete "extra1" folder from C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\THE SETTLERS - Rise of an Empire

Ha, silly me, it turns out I only unintalled the main game, so reinstalled, put on the patch and we are away. Thanks for the info tho, have printed it and put it away for safekeeping. Hopefully they will patch that problem.
