Hello, I just started playing Settlers 3 and just relived how disappointingly easy the AI can be when you know what you're doing.
Is there anyway to make it smarter or harder other than stacking teams against me? It seems the major obstruction for the AI is it never rebuilds stone cutter huts until it's too late and they run completely out of stone.

There is an option on the main menu to give Settlers III either an Easy AI or Normal AI. That's the only option.

The other option of course, is to play me 1v1

I haven't tried to play online in years, do people still play?

Thats just evil Ian and yes S3 online is still very popular,its a religion to some players!

Absolutely - Every day there is still a large amount of games, and certainly some big randoms, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6 and even 7v7's if you're lucky. Just try to be online around 6pm GMT onwards on weeknights and 7pm onwards GMT on weekends.

It's even easier than that (Spoiler) - I discovered that with most of the missions, if you just round all of your soldiers up immediately and launch a strategic raid, you can 'knock them out' and they never recover.

Settlers 4 is much more cjallenging! Sorry.
