I KNOW I am late ... I played earlier versions of settlers and had great fun with them too.

I only have the Demo at this time ... but I have the CD on order locally here ...

... and I CANNOT believe the flack it has received from some reviewers as to how "dumbed down" and "boring" it is! ...

I think these reviewers just go after a game to DEFEAT it! ... THE GAME not the AI opponents ... (not to mention I am waiting with anxiety to play this against my wife who is an INSANE multitasker)

I just want to say here that I KNOW that I will have HUNDREDS of hours of fun with this game when it arrives.

God like micromanagement to balance the settlers to be happy ... and get punished badly if you ignore their needs or wants ... is just my cup of tea.

I don't know where to start praising this game ... The BALANCE of the programming that requires YOU to balance everything had to be a mathematical NIGHTmare for the programmers ... but it is all but invisible. The GRAPHICS, right down to MASSES of bees buzzing around the beehives and little pups that lift their leg to tiny crabs in the water and the MASSIVE variety of villagers (settlers) and the attention to EVERY detail of bugs and crabs and on and on and on in the game if you have nothing to do for a minute ... zooming in brings you a WHOLE NEW WORLD ... not to mention ... it works SOOOOOO smoothly on a medium to medium plus computer ... no less what myself and my wife have ... made me write this post.

I LOVE this game ... although some INTENSE RTS gameplayers prolly think this game is boring, I find slow, wise, strategy, empire building games more up my street.

I just wanted to post this to ... erm ... say the above ...

If anyone knows of other RTS games that are of this caliber or close that are more about city/empire building with wisdom than freaking out to use every second to be able to defend/attack a foe ... then please send me a quick email via Greetmir@yahoo.com to suggest it.
