I have recently started playing the Settlers RoAE because of the news of the settlers 7. The only thing I noticed is that there are no ornaments. My friend (who I was playing with) said that he could place ornaments, which he did, but there was no option above the military button on the right side to add ornaments. I am patched to 1.71, what could be the problem?

if you mean the purely decorative item's they are a part of the limited edition version (altho a couple were given out as pre order incentives) so you cant build them with the standard game, not that these actually give you any benefit while playing anyway.
