The information I have gathered are from the published previews written in German. Keep in mind that these are previews and that some things might change during development of the game, and also that I can't guarantee 100% that I haven't made any mistakes during the translation from German to English.
Settlers 7 Release date: Spring 2010 Victory System: Three Victory Points categories. Military, Science and Trade Achieving certain goals in the above categories will earn you victory points. Some Victory Points are static and will never go away once you have attained it, while others can be snagged by another player. It is virtually impossible to be best in all three categories. In multiplayer and skirmish mode you can set the conditions yourself. Examples of things that can get you victory points: Largest army. The most technologies. The most trade Points. Longest trade route. Greatest Empire. A fully developed church. Sectors: The world is divided into different sectors. City sector: The start/city sector has a castle and a storehouse. Can be protected with castle walls. Village sector: Not big enough for a city. Woodcutter, stone cutter, mines and agriculture for example supplies your city with raw materials. Event?? sector: Neutral area with a landmark building on it. Can give you quests or other privileges. Monastery: send your monks there to get access to new technologies. Port: Market Place: Castle: Wandering merchants sometimes exist on the map. Military: Mentioned units: Pike men, archers, canon gunmen and Generals. Victory without the use of military to attack the other player is possible. Other sectors can be conquered, by occupying its military building. Buildings: Mentioned buildings user can build (I'm sure there are more): Woodcutter, mine, house, church, mill, stone cutter, farm, bakery, brewery. Example of prestige objects: parks, statues. Attracts more people and might give you a victory point. Buildings can be upgraded. The buildings have a Central Europe, early Renaissance look with a cartoon feeling. A good and a evil look on buildings. "good" is round and bright, "evil" is dark and has sharp edges. Roads can be build freely and may be upgraded. Settlers: Male and female settlers. The higher rank the settler is, the better they are dressed. Carriers transport goods, but the roads does not have flags like the old settlers did. Recruit soldiers from a fortress. Monks from a church. Traders from a warehouse. Technical Information: The game uses the trinity engine. Has clouds and a weather system. The goal is to run the game on a Nvidia Geforce 8800GT graphics card with full details at 20 fps. The minimum requirement is probably an Nvidia GeForce 6800. |
