It's probably a driver or video settings issue, as your hardware should have no problem running the game.

Are you forcing any settings on the game, or is your Nvidia control panel set to application controlled for the game settings?

In case it's a driver related problem, there's a newer driver available WHQL Release 191.07

If that doesn't fix things, it might be worth trying older drivers, as some driver versions work fine in some games, but give problems in others, and often it's a case of trying different versions and settings till you find a good combination of drivers and settings that works well.

It might also be worth turning off Physx, as some games can act up when it's enabled.

Help please ! I have both rise of an empire & heritage ok kings, installed them on my new pc, and both of them doesn't work !
When i try to launch those games the screen goes blank and stays this way, if i go back to the desktop with the windows key i can hear the music, but no way of playing !!!

I presume you two guys are using 64-bit operating systems with those amounts of RAM.

Maybe it's a 64- vs. 32-bit thing?

try loading the latest video card driver(s); i had the same problem with east india company (another game); it fixed my problem; also, try applying the patch (1.6, i think); in the other game they fixed the flashing screen problem in a patch; let me know; wsony12

I have a Nvidia Geforce 295 graphic card.

Perhaps it's the 3D texture settings? anyone knows how to change that, on the graphic card?

one suggestion I would give with the first system if it is possible try making it so settlers will only run on 2 cores, as it is possible the 8 cores in the i7 could be causing a problem.
