Now, I've heard plenty of gripes about this game, but I am still a big fan of the rainbow six series. I liked Raven Sheild and the last two Rainbow six games for the Xbox where ok, and I was looking foreward to this game for a long time, but when it came out, I heard nothing but bad things.

Is it worth the $50 or should I just pass this one up all together?

rent it, it's the only way to tell if it's for you or not.

I am not an employee of Eagle Dynamics nor Ubisoft and I do not speak for them.
All my comments are IMHO

Fry's apparently has it on sale, like Best Buy did at one point. As many people as there are here complaining though, you should be able to score one VERY cheap, or maybe just for the price of postage, since they say they refuse to play it anyway. Surely someone will put their money where their mouth is. (Could just be typical internet talk though).

Other than that, rent it and check it out first, like most people should have done. I like to get games in from Gamefly to test out first. Then you can buy it at a used game price, and they'll mail you the case, book etc.

I think it's a great game. And, after first playing it for a few hours, I bought another so I could host dedicated games on a second Xbox that I have.

This game will be "worth the money" when they correct the obvious flaws (on the disks as well as online) and it is selling for $19.99. I don't know when the mistakes and glitches will be fixed (on the disk), but that price range is not very far away.

Tetris is great a game, so if you're saying this game isn't good, you should choose another game.

Based on UBI's track record I wouldn't hold your breath. If UBI's perogative to make their share-holders happy, not their customers.

I agree Philip. I traded my two (2) copies in for $22.00 credit each and I will repurchase this game when it includes a hot tub date with Angelina Jolie. I still cannot believe they ruined the title that originally brought me to xbox. It was such a solid game and all it needed was some vehicles and more maps.

Gearbox came through with flying colors with Earned in Blood, I highly recommend it. The defective versions of this piece of junk will be worthless soon, trade or sell while you can.

Blink this isn't battle field this is rainbow six were talking about...Counter Terrorism, not war against Terrorism (Bush's daddy's war brought back to the 2000 century)

they dont drive tanks, humvees, helos with 100+ soldiers attacking a entire city, they are a squad of 8 sent in to take out or prevent terrorist from reaking havoc on the citczens of the country's of NATO

I have spent 100+ hours playing RB^ and BA, I am quite aware of the subject. If they HAD to materially change the game, I think there is room for helicopter assaults on dug-in positions, including sniper cover from heli (desert and mountainous terrains would work good) and light armour vehicles in a few maps for moving in and out of positions. They would have to be used with the open maps like in GRSS, but I think it could work and open the game up a little. The one door-one exit gameplay gets a little old. Just a personal preference.

The point is that they did not have to screw up this title to develop a new game. I would pay $60.00 for Black Arrow with new maps, PEC mode and some bells and whistles. Instead, I paid $35 each for a game no better than Special Ops: Red Mercury. It just doesn't make sense.

this game isn't Black Arrow or RS3. so don't expect anything like it. the only thing that went from BA to LD is shoot them in the head and they will die, most of the time. other than that it is run-n-gun. and once you reach lvl 40 in PEC the game is pointless. i am just waiting till Nov 22

lets compare rinbow six lockdown to rainbow six 3 black arrow and thew orginal for the xbox and xbox live.

but first I must say DON"T BUY THE GAME IF YOU DON"T HAVE XBOX LIVE. Now that I got this out of my system this game is more fast paced and more like run and gun, and the last 2 rainbow games for the xbox were full time strtegy even though there were some glitches.

This game (lockdown) has so many glitches its not funny thats why it was delayed but stll their are alot of glitches.

There are to many retarts in the game that love to glitch their level up. Thats just runins the whole gaming experience.

Also their is to much lag

Overall I would recommend to buy this game when the price drops or if Ubisoft fix's the game. Play black Arrow its only 20 bucks and its the most fun you'll have....

Interesting by-line on this game...Circuit City put LD and Rainbow Six on the $9.99 rack this weekend...AND THEY SOLD MORE R63 copies than LD copies at the two stores I was at!!! It made me think of this board from last year.

Update....Fry's marked this game down to $9.54, which is now below non-sale sticker price of Rainbow Six Three ($9.99), a game almost three (3) years OLDER. wHAT A DISASTER.
