I got to the second pillar, but the controls will not let me go to the telescope! In addition, when I looked up the symbol to write into the slate (I got so frustrated, I cheated), the slate won't give me the option of writing on it anymore. Is this a bug? What is going on with my game?

Sounds to me like it may be a bug.... I would suggest going back to your most recently saved game and trying again.

I am near where you are, but can't quite get there.

One thing I noticed is that the slates seem to self wipe here but on the "ice age" they didn't.

I must find this "tram station" because the one I can find when I get on the tram, the lever won't work.

I don't know if that is because the doors are open but then how do I close them?

Any subtle hints please?
