being a novice at this game I just finished and I hope i post this correctly.
After ending up on Myst island and ending the game Iám not able to start the game again. Its not seeing the disc anymore. Is this part of the finish that you've to reinstall prior playing a other ending.

The only way I know for playing all the 4 endings is to make a save before making any choice at the end (before you decice what to do with the golden slate)

Is there any difference in the endings for (1)Not picking up the tablet and linking to Myst, (2)Giving the tablet to Yeesha and linking to Myst, and (3)completing the game with the Releeshan ending, going through the credits, hitting continue, not going near the tablet where you left it and linking to Myst?

there are 4 possible endings and are somewhat all different. This is why save the game first is so important. And after the end of each one, you can replay another one (after the credits).

• 1- link to Myst island without the slate.
  
  2- give the slate to Yeesha.
  
  3- take the slate and link to Myst island.
  
  4- take the slate and drop it on the floor inside the bubble and back out far enough for the Bahro to be able to pickup the slate.

And walk away...

Thanks thats what I thought but my problem is that after finishing Iám not able to back to a previous save because after the sart menu its saying no disc/ insert disc and then I mean the original CD. I have the original but it doesn't see it anymore? Out off your replies I notice that you don't have this problem so I will try to reinstall the game and play it again if I find the time.

Hmm... good luck with the disc problem.

nanoukmetal - of your 4 possible endings, I think 1 and 2 are part of the same one. Give the tablet to Yeesha then link to Myst Island and you'll be given the same speech by Esher as if you had just gone to Myst without the tablet.

At least... I think I tried it. Now that I think about it, how would you go about getting to Myst without the slate and without causing the good ending to happen?
I suppose you could drop it and link to Myst before the Bahro has a chance to take it. Will try later.

Could it be to leave the slate "on" the pedestal ?

I did find that hint in a secret chamber way down under the great pyramid.
