Help! I'm stuck in Noloben. I've got to the top of the lab, and have verified through two walkthroughs that I've done everything I need to. Trouble is, when I drop the slate with the snake symbol on it, nothing happens. No Bahro. I've tried dropping the slate elsewhere on the rooftop, with and without the symbol, but still no Bahro. I've restarted the game three times hoping it would work, but no luck. Any ideas anyone? I'll sob if I can't play this game further!

Oh, I'm using a Mac Intel, but on the Windows interface (the game installed OK on the Mac side, and worked fine til I got to this same point, where the video didn't work so I couldn't see the door. Strangely enough the Bahro did appear though!). Do you think this could be the problem? I'm stymied cos I can't see anyone else reporting the same issue.

Welcome to the forums.

I remember having a similar problem. I could not even pick up the slate.

From memory, I had to use a saved game prior to a puzzle to solve this enigma.

There's a place where you have to put the slate
and a veeeeeeeeeeery long delay to give you plenty of time to reach the door.

You need the weight of the slate to keep the distant "door" open. The snake on the slate actually keeps the Bahro away; you don't want it to come and take the slate. If the slate should be removed, the "door" would "close"again. Go there without the slate!!

Thanks everyone. I thought maybe I just hadn't been patient enough (thanks realxcv!), but 5 minutes after dropping the slate, the door still wasn't open. I came and wrote up a post here, then thought I'd jsut go back and check that the slate was still sitting where I dropped it. It was actually back on the pedestal though, so I tried the whole thing again, and whaddya know, about 3.5 minutes (yes really) after dropping the slate, the door opened. Hallelujah! My Bahro must just have been on island time or something Wink
