Was close to solving the "cable car" puzzle on Todelmar when a new icon appeared on the pedestal. It's a small circle orbiting another and it is on the right side, opposite the starting icon. However, I had NOT YET discovered even the first icon to carve in the slate, so none of the other icons had appeared. Unfortunately, I clicked on the "orbiting circle" icon and found myself inside an orbiting "space station" where my slate is now "locked" on a four-sided pedestal that holds the Tablet. Is there any way to release my slate so I can continue solving Todelmar?

I'm afraid I've found a "short cut" to the Tablet, but now I can't finish solving Todelmar, which I may need to solve other ages.

You haven't seen the sticky topic in this forum then? Smile

I suppose many of us have ended up in there. I, for one, have drawn the pac-man-shaped symbol that is glowing above the door to the red room. Of course that's not a Bahro symbol as it means something else.

I don't think not having solved the Age prevents you from finishing the game, but it certainly means you skip on a portion of a game, which is a shame. So... reload Smile

That is exactly how I ended up where I did! I carved the "Pac Man" icon on my slate and the Bahro sent me into orbit.

I'm glad to here that solving the Age without finding all the clues isn't fatal, but I enjoy the game too much to skip any part of it, so I took your advice, reloaded the previous saved game and solved the Age the old fashioned way!

I also ended up at The Keep prematurely, but not from drawing the "Pac Man" symbol. I drew a circle with cross-hairs after seeing such symbols on the map at the top of the observatory. This was before I learned that acceptable slate symbols are actually pretty obvious when you find them, and that guesses only cause some Bahro head-scratching or take you to the end before you're ready.

Well said! The clues we are looking for are obvious once discovered, especially the slate symbols since they are glowing. Guessing or carving random symbols only wastes time or takes us where we don't want to go. I went back one saved game, retrieved my slate and resumed the search for clues. I found them!

P.S. So that's what the "space station" is called! I'll remember that when I get there the old fashioned way.

I have a related question.

Are there fewer symbols in Toldemar than in the other ages? I found the final symbol fair and square, but it seems that there's a space where a third symbol should be (I just have the one on the left and centre of the bottom row) and I ***umed there would be another puzzle where it turns out there wasn't.

Sorry to be so vague, but I'm concerned that this is a technical issue, so I want to post here without adding any spoilers. And I don't want to skip parts of the game! :S

Yes, there is one symbol less to find in Todelmer than in Tahgira. The final symbol (the one that takes you to the Keep) is always on the far right.

I'm not sure if you have or not finnished that AGE now.

But the "pacman" sequences are best used else where and this helps you get to see the next symbol/sign.

As a bit of a hint, I'm taking it you have worked out the cable car "puzzle".

Well, that said, the others are like that in they require things to be moved to allow you to view the next "symbol".

You enter the "pacman" sequence where it should be entered/what ever and this allows you to see the next place.

I don't want to give too much away - I hope you understand.

And something which threw me was that there are only THREE symbols in this age. And the missing one leaves what would appear to be a missing entry on the main pedestal back at the bubble.

Don't panic!

(Sorry that's another movie)

I also did the Pacman thing and ended up at the Keep. So I finished up the Age and returned to Dahrebo, then reloaded a saved game. Now I've found the proper symbol on the 2nd pedestal, but when I enter it the Bahro seems to link away with the slate - but the slate stays behind on the ground. And I don't get the link symbol on the first pedestal either. Any ideas how I can get around this?

I just managed to solve my own problem. Another thread suggested getting further away from the slate to allow the Bahro to do their thing. I tried it again, standing near the first pedestal, and still no luck. On a whim I took the slate to the top of the hill and put it down up there. Then I went back down to the first pedestal and the proper linking symbol finally appeared. Hurray! Now I can finish Todelmar and head off to Noloben.
