I was really hoping to find out from those of you who may know the facts or have good hunches as to: Why URU was not included in the final "Making Of" CD/DVD?

I have my own theories but without injecting them....I'm just looking for as many known facts and insights as possible from those of you who have your fingers on the pulse of the MYST series/CYAN.

Maybe because URU wasn't part of the Myst series? Although Myst 5 was almost a continuation of it. Not sure, maybe this is why...

This is partly why I have posted the question... because on the one hand it seems like URU is obviously not a part of the MYST series and on the other...it would seem that it very well can be considered a part of the series... so an air of uncertainty surrounds this issue....just as I sense the very same uncertainty in your post.

I'm hoping through some fact collection/empirical data/discussion to get a clearer non-biased understanding....if at all possible.

I'm going to have to side with Zeus on this one, though the conspiracy theory answer is just as plausible

As far as I am concerned, I call it "milking an idea to its max".

I can even see some people "milking" threads for higher post numbers.

So why not get new people to buy Uru for Uru Live, wait a while and come out with a new version with one new age and sell The New Uru deluxe edition at a big price ?

P.S. If you think I am off topic, it might a good idea to explain to people like me what this special cd is about. Was it part of the deluxe edition ? And if so, are we suppose to go and buy an additionnal kit ?

So let me first see if I am following you with regards to the topic at hand... Are you saying that you think because URU was not included in the final "Making of" DVD that perhaps this was done purposely so they could release a "Making Of URU" DVD later to make a profit?

I haven't heard that one yet...my gut is telling me this sounds like a long shot. Still sounds interesting...but now that I think of it....after reading your last comment/request I don't think you even know what disk I am talking about. So let me clarify...

The disk I am referring to came with the MYST V Collector's Edition. It is called "Making the Game." While the title seems to imply it would solely be about making MYST V...the DVD is actually a "historical" account of making the "entire" MYST series leading up to MYST V. It shows CYAN's evolution and growth from the inception of MYST. In other words it basically presents/mentions all the games except for URU. This is the topic question I am bringing up.

I understand your "milking an idea to its max" comment when it comes to this series and I think I agree with that to some degree...however I still think there is a lot more material/story/concept within this series that could actually be "milked" and developed if ever it was decided to do so.

Now lastly Nanouk... I really wish I knew what your problem is...or said another way... what this ridiculous comment about "milking" threads to get higher post numbers is about? First of all I don't even understand what you're implying here...secondly...you need to get over whatever it is you think about me (others have noticed you jumping all over my posts as well - one example of which I'm sure you recall - that you deleted all your posts shortly after they told you to lay off)...thirdly I think you've been spending one too many days on these forums...go out for a walk or something... the fresh artic air should do you some good. If you'd like to clear the air for yourself I welcome you to PM me and we can talk out whatever your issue is. Please don't ruin a potential good topic discussion for me and others... by bringing up your ridiculous issues publicly. PM me.

I was not taking a shot at you when I mentionned milking a thread. Not long ago there was some jokes and talks about some of the users spamming over here on this site. And a few were a bit upset that their posts count were "re-adjusted" after some directives from administration. I guess that you were on vacation at the time. So no need to take it personnal. It was not my intention.

We had a lot of philosophical discussions lately and my "artic blood pressure" was still high.

In the futur I will stay from the threads you are posting. It is the best idea I have at the moment. No grudge, no offence taken, just a fact of life.
