I am on the roof of the narrater's labratory or studio hut and there is a lense that transfers light to the island for entry towards the next slate drawing (I think I can see some sort of blue symbolism on the inside when I look into the hillside from the roof where I am) When I adjust the scope to shine light on the tree picture inside the circle on the door the door vanishes but only for a very brief period of time. The door re-appears as soon as I step off the floor symbol of the tree that is on the roof of the hut

Hi,

I beleive you have the wrong name for the age. It should be Noloben if I read you right.

You have to leave some weight to replace you on that spot and find a trick to make certain it will not be removed right away, for you to get inside, over there.

Mayby you should, first, go there (walk) and have a look,to see what could be a hint as to what is needed. (extra hint: another cave on the way there).

I haven't played myst V in a while so the names of the ages were unclear to me but I ment to say Noloben ( I beleive Lai'kan is the age with the arena that of which has got me at another stand still which I will address in another topic)
There doesn't seem to be anything besides the slate that I could place ontop of the ground picture. I have tried placing the slate on the ground and then walking away; It hasn't worked each time that I have tried. I have adjusted the pillar on the grass section of the roof that drops the ladder and seals off the ground enterance, I went down into the hut looking for things of any relevance to my dilema with no luck.

P.S. I have completed two out of the four ages, Noloben and Laki'ahn are what I have left and I am stumped in each of those two ages. Is there a possability that I could get a walkthrough or spoiler to keep that door from shutting after I leave the roof With Stupid

Your idea of putting down the slate on top of the picture is good. But as soon as you leave, a Bahro will come and pick it up to put it back on the pedestal in the link-in bubble. So you'll have to think of a way to keep the Bahro away long enough for you to reach the offshore island. Perhaps you can write something on the slate that scares it off?

Small spoilers: in one of Yeesha's book or one piece of paper inside the Esher's lab.

On the roof of Esher's laboratory is a pedastal for the slate so I can link directly to the lense with the slate. I will try and use the knowledge that I already have to keep the Bahro away from the slate.
I have a question about the slate's mystical powers; when I place the slate on the ground it remains semi-transparent with a blue glittery effect to it. In the past it has given it an almost weightless appearence, would there be any problems using the slate as a weight if it keeps its mystical appearence? Smile

well... the slate dosent have enough weight to keep the stone blocking the door invisible as that should be apparent when you get off the picture with the slate still on it. there needs to be something heavier than the slate. so you can already guess that a Bahro is needed. You should have already spoken to Esher on the steps of his lab. He tells you that his lab is safe because of the ______. He says that the Bahro are scared of them. in the lab there is a drawing of the things that scare the Bahro while this drawing contains something besides it. it is also in one of the books that you picked up. if you draw the thing on the slate and drop it on the ground a Bahro will come look at it and wont pick it up. it will quickly dissappear without colecting it. but if you wander far enough away from it the picture that you drew will dissappear from the slate and the Bahro will come and collect it. (dont be to impatient when you reach the door before it disappears, it takes a few seconds after you reach the door for the Bahro to collect it.)

hope I helped and didnt give to much away.
