Hello to you,
Even though, I solved this puzzle (just by many attempts - almost lost my patience)

I should warn that there might a bug on that puzzle. I am talking about that large column on which there is a pedestal (circle and almost rectangled shape) which is used to get down/up depending on the combination I enter on 4 controls and 1 I think, "confirmation" control". After I enter the combination I have to return to the second pedestal (with 2 triangles) return to the main pedestal, and then get to the third pedestal. I understood very well the idea of the puzzle as I saw the backward door that resembles the door of the house in front of the main pedestal. I have to raise the column to the second level to get through the bridge so I'll be able to get to that door. Also, there are other things to do.

Anyway, in the following combination starting from the most left control and up to the right:
Most left control: both switches are turned red, sec. control: left switch is red, other two on the right side to the power button are closed (not red) - on my trial on this puzzle I sent the pedestal up, while me returning to the pedestal from the second->main->third.

It seems that after realizing that this combination is wrong I returned to controls, quit the game and when I opened the game again I found myself in the hole where supposed to be a pedestal, unable to get out of it and also there have been some distortions in that hole and upwards - purple circle. In short, I got myself stuck and forced to return to the previous saved game forced to draw these impossible "symbols" on the pedestal and beware not to repeat the same combination of controls.

I want to know if it is a bug that game creators know there is, or some players got into it. If you can afford to test it (if you already played the game), quit the game and launch the game again and load that game (by continue). I remind: Most left control: both switches are red, sec. control - only left switch is red. Third and fourth controls on the right of the "OK/action" buttion are turned off/switches off.

Thanks ,
Eduard.

Yes I have read of a few bugs related to the raising column's puzzle.

My suggestion is to always replay a saved game from before this puzzle. Like one made while you are still in the water after the two triangles's pedestal with the opened gate.

Btw, your sand's apertures settings seem to be different than mines.

See the Birt Jamin walkthrough for more infos...click here

PS., even though I solved a column (with pedestal) puzzle, starting by logic solution to this puzzle and ending just by trial and error experience. What is the logic solution to this puzzle? I just paid attention there that if you stand on the scales you see 3 circles (one inside another) - which means 15. But what does it tells me? That I have to add my weight to the minimum settings for the column to raise to the second level?

Thanks in advance,
Eduard.

Here is a quote from the Coelho Buda walkthrough.
From Here...click here
quote:
This is a weight puzzle. What you have to do here is to figure out how much
you weigh with the slate and how much the pillar weighs. Why? Because you need
to set the counter weights (the grey buttons) in such a way that when you link
to the second pedestal the pillar will hold your weight and allow you to
access the footbridge directly above your head.

So, let us start. Begin by weighing yourself at the weighing station to the
left. Step onto the pressure plate and you'll see that you weigh two red
crystals on the three circle line, plus one crystal on the one circle line,
which means you weigh (2 x 3) + (1 x 1) = 7 red crystals.

Now, to get at the pedestal, push each of the grey buttons so that the red
crystals above them are covered. When you're done, press the central golden
button and the pillar will lower.

.... Once the slate is on the pedestal, pick it up and
let's find out how much the pillar weighs when it is set to be on level with
the footbridge. If you fiddle with the grey buttons and the golden button
you'll find out that the pillar weighs (1 x 3) + (2 x 2) + (2 x 1) = 9 red
crystals.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: Rasmus sent me a note saying that you must add +1 for your own weight if
you are carrying the slate (or subtract 1 if not). Otherwise you'll be too
heavy and the pillar will sink to the bottom. This note is more of a
suggestion for those of you that are just skimming the walkthrough. If you're
following it, you don't have to worry about it as I have calculated the
correct weight with the slate in mind.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This means that if you want the pillar to take your weight and allow you
access to the footbridge, the counterweight must be set to 9 + 7 = 16 red
crystals or (2 x 4) + (2 x 3) + (1 x 2).
