I was perusing amazon.com when I decided to order the Myst 5 calendar. It looked good: a 16 month calendar, with an interview and coupons as well as some nice Myst 5 pics. Well, what a surprise I got when I finally did get the package. First is the size- half the size advertised. Each page only measures a puny 6X7 inches. Next, it is only a 12 month not a 16 month calendar. No interviews, no coupons, no extras.
I guess I should have known... looking at this tiny thing brought back memories of the half sized book they included with the game. I guess for the next 12 months I can be constantly reminded of that D*** book as I am using a magnifying glass to read the micro numbers on this Lilliputian calendar |

Lilliputian: n. pertaining to Lilliput, a country of pygmies in Swift's Gulliver's Travels; small; weak; n. very small or puny person.
Great word usage & more than humorous post poutrew! "The end has not yet been written..." |

That's extremely odd... I've seen copies of the calendar, as I had some shipped to me to mail out for prizes (why they were shipped to me and not the winners I dunno, but I digress), and they are quite large... normal calendar size, at any rate, with a spiral-bound spine. They were sealed, so I couldn't verify the 16-month claim, but even normal 16-month calendars just have the extra 4 months printed in small type on one page, so there isn't much more to it.
There is supposed to be an introduction, not an interview, from Rand Miller, and I imagine the coupons from Ubi may only be available if you buy it from Ubi (which I acknowledge not everyone can), but that is definitely not the calendar that I've seen with my own eyes... I will investigate this. ---------- Guild of Archivists, D'niPedia Writers Ring (DPWR.NET) Uru and Myst Forum Moderator / Community Assistant Do not PM me for tech support or hint requests for the Myst series |

I purchased the 16-month calendar from ubisoft, and it got left behind in storage when I moved.
Later I purchased the one from amazon.com, and I received the tiny 12-month one. There are no coupons or anything else included with it. I did, however, get it at the 99 cents price, which they later corrected to $9.95. I guess it's nice to have one of each . . . All I can say is, there is a difference in what was marketed to us. |

I got a response back from Dave regarding the calendar, and a clarification from one of the other Myst forum mods on the subject. It appears that Amazon.com's description of the product they are selling is incorrect, as they appear to only be selling a smaller version. I would suggest contacting Amazon and telling them that their product description is inaccurate.
