Presuming you're going from an earlier save?
Rather than give the tablet to Yeesha, think about how you would give it to the Bahro... ...a diagram in one of Yeesha's pages gives a small clue. |

lol ok nvm i figured it out...nice ending!!
its a shame the game was so short though. â£35 for 1 day worth of gameplay!! hmmm can you say short changed... oh well |

Hey isn't it cool that you got possibly the most rewarding "bad ending" you ever could?
I remember back in Myst 1 when you could choose to go into the trap books, they said "well really, there should be ages in there, but we didn't want to give you a full Age, just for the bad ending." Well eventually we DID get to go in there, but that's beside the point. The point is: in EoA they actually DID give us an entire full Age JUST for the bad ending! I like it... symbolic that Myst is the old way. Also, it was just DEVINE being able to explore that island, yet also sad.. like a lot of this game. _______________________________________________ EMS' Relto Perhaps The Ending Has Not Yet Been Written... |

Anyone else think the good ending cheated a bit? Technically the hotspot to drop the tablet SHOULD have been just as available as any other...clicking on the rim of the tablet anywhere to drop it. I didn't figure they would cheat by having the "drop" hotspot different from the other tablets. I'm sure they were trying to avoid people accidentally getting the good ending by dropping the tablet right off before thinking about it -- technically the good ending requires the least work. So I didn't find the hotspot and slogged ALL over the bottom of the shaft trying to figure out what I was missing.

I think we should have been given a glimpse of the consequences of the "good ending". That is, what goes down some years later when the Bahro are eventually corrupted by the absolute power of the Tablet.
What little we know of the history of the Tablet is not pretty. We're informed that the Tablet's power corrupts anyone who holds it---a bit like the One Ring. One theory (and I'm making this up out of whole cloth, there's nothing in Myst V to directly support my conjecture) might be that empathy with the downtrodden immunizes one against the pernicious influence of the Tablet. Absent such a possibility, perhaps the Tablet ought to have been dropped from the top of the Great Shaft and shattered into a million pieces ... jayctravis - Yes I think that's exactly what they did. With good reason too... imagine how bad you'd feel if you just hit the good ending without thinking about it.
In fact that's what I was planning to do - I was looking for a way to drop it so I could walk around without the tablet. But since I couldn't find a way, I went ahead and did the bad endings. Eventually, I found the drop-spot, and said "ohh THAT's how you drop it" - still not realising the good ending was upon me until it happened! pjohansson - Then it wouldn't really be a "good ending" would it? The point is, that power, given to an individual, no matter if they're Yeesha, Esher or even Atrus himself, corrupts, and leads its owner to want to use the Bahro as slaves. Giving the tablet to the Bahro, as a whole, lets them rule themselves. The power BELONGS to the Bahro so you're giving them the right to themselves... not giving them corruptible new power, but rather letting each Bahro be free to use its own power. This is similar thinking to why the Kings of D'ni were made into the D'ni Council by the last King Kerath. _______________________________________________ EMS' Relto Perhaps The Ending Has Not Yet Been Written... |

I had the same problem, but at first I thought that I had done somthing terrible when I was kidnaped by the Bahro (I really wasn't expecting that), and when I saw Yeesha collapse my instant reaction was that she was dieing, I thought that prehaps prehaps the Bahro were secretly evil, and had let Yeesha think they were good until she set them free from the slate, and then betrey her. (amazing how much can go though your head in such a short space of time isn't it?). When I saw Yeesha look up with that ENORMAS grin on her face I reaised that it was a good ending after all. (It would have been a bit of a disapointing game it it wasn't, three bad endings and no good ones).
And I don't think the power of the Tablet can corrupt the Bahro, they have been set free of slavery, and so have power only of themselves, not over others (eccept Esher, but then he murdered Bahro in his "lab", so deserves everything that he gets. I wonder what the Bahro did with him?) |

Hey, all he had to do was touch his chest and he would be free to do as he wished. We saw it many times in the game. It's pretty obvious that he's a crew member of the starship Enterprise, so the Bahro didn't do anything to him.

That's... an interpretation yes

Actually, the linking skin on his right shoulder is not Star Treck technology.

I have been curious about that cloth thing that Esher wears, I think that Yeesha gave it to him so that he could assist those undertaking the quest. Although if I were Yeesha I wouldn't have trusted him with somthing as powerfull as that. Curiously enougth, despite him despising any form of linking other then D'ni books, why does he seem to be so content with using such a cloth? And I suspect that the Bahro would have removed it before doing whatever they did with Esher (prehaps putting him back on Tahgira without the pedistals. That would be fitting as it was a prison age for D'ni who commited terrible crimes. |

I think he stole it, or copied it from Yeesha. He could be trying to emulate the way the Bahro link. The D'ni made mechanical devises to control the linking process, the Bahro control the process at will. So I think the Bahro can effectively render Eshers linking cloth useless, or they could simply hold his hands away from his panic link.

Check his lab in Noloben to find out where he got the "cloth" (I suspect it's skin). |

I was under the impression that the tablet doesn't give you power, it gives you complete control of the Bahro, and the vast amount of power they have. I don't think it can corrupt them. It wouldn't grant them any more power, as they are the source of the tablet's power to begin with. Think of it this way, it isn't the weapon that empowers them, it was the shackle that bound them. They will most likely destroy the tablet, allowing themselves to use their full powers. And their servitude ends. |

what pages were they? on the floor. i couldn't make most of them out.

I do not have Myst 5 installed any more and if they are not around here...
Or in one of yeesha's books. Check this post by Mr Zebe D...click here I beleive that this small post from Mr Zebe D tells you more about Uru ABM or Uru CC and Myst 5, than the sum of all the posts, from everywhere, of the ending of the story about the Bahros. |

I saved on the little island and again before I picked up the tablet. then went on to drop the tablet in front of Yeesha. I guess that's what people are calling the good ending. I'd like to do the others, but when I press 'continue' I don't get a chance to reach the book and restore the save. How do you do it? Otherwise the 'good' ending replays over and over.

Go back to the "small island save" and link to the bubble near Yeesha.
Then make a save before touching anything. You have three main endings plus two more variations. When facing Yeesha, there is an entrance on the left to get inside the building. Go there, with or without the slate, and go inside Atrus office room. You will find another special linking book and....???? Giving the slate to Yeesha is not the good ending. (she told you so at the beginning of the game). If ever you need a big spoiler, come back and ask for it. I would not like you to feel sorry if I give it to you too soon. |
