I'm at the telescope on the first pillar. I know I'm supposed to be able to see the second pedestal through the telescope after you've turned all the right switches and pressed all the right buttons in the red control room. But I still cannot se the second pedestal. Therefore, I can't get to the tram. what am I doing wrong?

You can see one pedestal full-on and one pedestal side-on from the first pillar. This means that you have to go to another pillar to see the second pedestal full-on.

I just cannot see that second pillar through the telescope. I' pretty sure I've done everything right, but I cna't see it. What does the symbol on it look like. Is it the circle with three lines?

The view of the second pedestal is blocked by a wheel. You will have to turn that wheel a bit in order to see the second pedestal.

How do I move the wheel. I've tried everything.

Have you been into the little building on top of the pillar?

Yes, I have been to the building at the top. I've found the hidden staircase and I have pulled the lever down at the bottom. Still no second pillar.

I don't understand.

Did you go to the second pillar via the symbol that you can see from the first telescope?

OK, here is a spoiler:


Go to the levers.
Push the top lever to the left.
Pull the bottom lever until it's clear it doesn't do anything any more.
Push the top lever to the right.
Pull the bottom lever just once.
Go to the telescope and look very carefully.


Further spoiler:


To save time later, go down once you have the symbol, move the top lever back to the left, and pull the bottom lever.

Just one more question--what and where exactly are the levers?

Thanks for your help Vogelaar. Sorry to sound dense, but are you talking about the levers at the bottom of the hidden stairs or what. Where, exactly are the levers you're talking about?

Enter the building in the center of the top of the pillar. Go down the stairs as far as you can, then out to the platform. On the right hand side there are two levers, the upper one can be moved to the left or to the right to indicate the direction the lower one will pull, the lower one pulls cables (and something else, but you'll find out about that later) in the indicated direction.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but I am still having trouble with the telescope viewing the 2nd pedestal. I've stuck on this darned pillar for two days. I have the Prima Official Game Guide and following that doesn't work either. I don't know if this is proper, but do you think we could talk on the phone so you could walk me through this impediment? Steve if you don't understand where you are at and you are using the Game Guide (which is very clear, IMO), then you might want to leave this age be for awhile and go work on another age and come back to it. Sometimes people get so mired in "I can't do it, I can't do it, I don't see it" that they just can't and don't even when it's right in their face, so the best thing to do is detach from it for awhile so you can come back with a fresh perspective.

Calling you on the phone from the Netherlands (Europe) would be too expensive!

As BulaRae says, it might be best to let Todelmer be for a couple of days, and to start exploring one of the other ages.

Or you might get the symbol you need from a walkthrough and use it. That way, you can at least continue playing. You can always come back later to see if you can find the symbol in-game.
