This thread is made so that I can give you updates as to where I am in Riven. On sunday, I played for about 1 hour and managed to make it to the Rebel Base (The one with the tree.) I am now back in Riven. So, there you have it.
Leehrat... do you remember when you first started playing? I think it was a couple months ago? I know you haven't had much time to play since because of your homework but I am just about ready to say you are steaming through this game at an extremely surprising rate.
I thought I was going too slow. I haven't used a walkthrough. All the puzzles make so much sense. And I think I've finally discoevred the cause of that machine with all the landscapes, the squares tell you the location of the spinning domes!
Well Leehrat...again... considering so little time to play during the school year... I have to say I am extremely impressed!! You're WELL on your way buddy...that's all I can say for now! As a side question...do you get straight A's?
Okay so I am at the marble puzzle . I have the locations of every marble perfectly known. However, I don't knwo which color to put in which spot. I know what symbol means what color, but I don't know what symbol correspond to each island. I know how to find out, but this theory seems very aggravating. Do I have to recognize the islands from the machine, then go back to the spinning dome of that island and get the symbol or is there an easier way? Please if there is an easier way don't tlel me how just say 'Yes there is an easier way' I really want to beat this without using any walkthroughs.
Hey Leehrat...well...it may actually be even harder & more aggravating than what you think! Answer me this question though and I may have a better idea what to tell or not tell you. I was going to post something lengthier but changed my mind...so I need you to tell me what "machine" it is that you are referring to... what "machine" is it that you think you need to recognize the islands from?
Let this be your clue then... I will certainly say that it is much harder than you think buddy. Not to worry though...you and practically everyone else on the planet who played this game were challenged to the brink of insanity with this puzzle. Although I must also say that you are still ahead of the gang. Let the "game" begin.
Final harmless hint...not sure you have to recognize landscapes per say Leehrat...but recognizing colors and symbols could also present quite a challenge for you...maybe more than recognizing a landscape?
All grins from me. I beat the marble puzzle. Justw ent back to each island and looked at the symbols. then recognized the islands from the machine. Now i just don't knwo what to do next.
That's fantastic but I'm not sure you beat the puzzle just by knowing the island and its symbols. How did you figure out how to associate the colors with the appropriate island? ANd OH... how there is more fun to be had.
