I was stuck on the "Big Stone House on the Hill" for three hours. The big stone door on the island would not open for me, and I have verified that I'm doing the puzzle correctly by consulting two different walkthrus.
I also tried moving each stone cap one symbol at a time, and checking the stone door each time, but it still won't open.
According to the walkthrus there are actually four doors, each controlled by a stone cap symbol alignment, but I can't even get the outer-most door to open.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Serrith, by "big stone door on the island" do you mean the one with the symbol on it that you have to wade through the water to get to? If so, that is the wrong door. The doors you are trying to open are directly beneath the stone caps that you turn to open them. Is this enough of a hint?

Hmmm, that makes sense, but I'm obviously missing something basic. Yes, the stone door you have to wade to is the one I was referring to. The strange thing is, I didn't see any doors BEFORE I turned the stone caps.
I'll go back and look more carefully.
