Hello all. I'm new to forums, but since I'm such a Myst fanatic, this might be a good place to start. I've already finished Myst I-IV without much trouble (yes, I am a genius).
Although, I did have to cheat on Uru. It was freakin' impossible!

But anyway, to my question. I bought Myst IV & V together when I got the spiffy new computer, and I just finished Revelations, which was awsome. EoA seems to work OK, but it looks terrible! I expected it to be a notch down from Myst IV with the realtime rendering, but it's more like the original Myst except you can walk around, and everything shakes when I look with the mouse, not that I'm the nervous type. Is it supposed to look like that or do I just have a lousy Graphics Card (nVIDIA GeForce 6200-256MB on XP). Someone please give me a reality check. I mean besides the genius part.

Maybe you need somekind of a pc tune up.

Even if you have a new computer, it does not mean that all the drivers are up to date.

Thanks for trying to help, but all my drivers are already up to date (the first thing I did when I got the computer home was spend three days downloading drivers and updates), and I've already tried everything on the post you suggested that seemed within my technical abilities including the clean boot re-install. I've played plenty of other graphics intensive games on my current configuration, so I'm sure it's an isolated problem. I did put put a new thread on the tech help forum like you suggested, complete with dxdiag report. I'm also having trouble with character speech.

I just wanted to say something in GD in case anyone was listening. Which, apparently, you are.

I'm still scratching my head on why EoA won't work, but thanks anyway.

As for the sound problem, have you tried changing you speakers set up to "desktop stereo" ?

For me the 5.1 set up (or better) did not work.

You will find this through the => Start/menu/control panel/sounds, voices and periphicals and speakers setup (and/or "speakers, modification, properties) if you are using Windows XP. I have the french version of Windows so I am doing free translation.

That worked! I can hear everything fine now. I was unknowingly set to 7.1 surround sound when I only had two speakers.
I'm still working on the video problems, but Heimdall G has sent me some advice and questions. Thanks for the help.

I hope it will be as easy with your graphic bug but usually Heimdall G is very methodic and it could be a bigger job.
