Hi,

My problem is I cannot figure out how to communicate the symbols with the slate.

I have arrived at the first age where you are stuck inside what seems to be an ice cave or something. It is snowing outside. I met Esher. Since there is no way out (exit is blocked) I suppose I have to scribble a symbol on the slate to get help from a bahro.

I found a symbol in the ice:


.... and tried to reproduce it about 10 times but the bahro never understood what I meant.....


Did I scribble badly or is this the wrong symbol...?

I did some random scribbling in desperation to see how the bahro would react and most of the time he scratched his head and left but suddenly he carried it back to the pedestal and a new 'button was lit up'. This is where the button took me and it also shows what I scribbled. I guess this is an instance of the problem I heard about that scribbling can accidentally bring you to the end of an age without you knowing why:


I am perplexed. Am I doing something seriously wrong?

(BTW, I have not read the previous posts in this forum because I just started the game and I don't want even minor spoilers not relevant to my current situation at this stage. When I played Revelation I got angry more than once when reading a spoiler-free question and then just stubling onto a spoiler answer that ruined the whole puzzle for me, and I don't want to have that again.)

You should never scribble random symbols on the slate - the Bahro's reaction might not be as intended.
You should start Tahgira anew by going back to a saved game, or since you're at the very beginning, starting End of Ages anew.
When you arrive in Tahgira, Esher drops an important clue:

I'll go back to a savegame from before I linked to any other age and see what I can make of Eshers clues....

nice clue! I actually went back having read something different into your clue but solved it anyway. it was almost like solving it myself... :-)
