A few months back I was watching a show about Richard Feynman called The Last Journey of a Genius. In this video was a melody that I knew I had heard before but couldn't for the life of me remember where. It was nagging me for far too long but I finally learned to forget about it.

This past weekend I decided to replay Myst V. I visited Laki'ahn and while walking around, there was that melody again! It was faint, but I heard it. I made the connection back to the show about Feynman quick enough. I quit the game, put in the soundtrack, and compared it to the show.

Listen to it yourself and tell me what you think. Smile

Track 5 on the Myst V soundtrack, skip ahead to about 1:30. On the video The Last Journey of a Genius skip ahead to about 28:45. Different versions are sung until about 30:30.

If Feynman had live long enough to realize his dream, he could have made a video similar to this one...

If you go on YouTube and do a simple search for "Tuva", you will find many entries for the Tuva/Mongalian throat singers.

Btw, I love his idea about space being full of waves. In my mind, I call it/them... "The Wall" or at times... "The Philosophers Stone".

Or on the funnier side...Bahro slates/stones.

Picking up immediately where the original Myst ended, players are presented the privilege, challenge and responsibility of restoring the lost empire of the D'ni -- an ancient civilization of people who thrived for thousands of years but later met with a great catastrophe. Like each previous Myst title, Myst V: End of Ages advances the graphical beauty and detail of its worlds with a fully immersive 3D environment. Cyan carefully crafted and combined elements of adventure, puzzles, storyline and gameplay innovation for the final chapter of this epic adventure series.
