hello. i don't know if this is the place to ask, but i haven't found any place better...
as i wrote in the subject, i'm stuck in the tahgira phase... i turned all the levers to the right and i'm trying provide steam by dropping the slate with the steam symbol on it... but the bahro comes and takes it to the "slate holder" that is near those huts with the levers... and i can't access the handles with the red and blue marks!
can anyone help me solve this problem?

Hi,

It means that the Bahro does not like you drawing or that you have the wrong one ( it should be a Sun symbol)

There is also a possibility that all the pipes leading to the two switches have not been all turned on. (re: map inside the hut)

hey.. i drew a circle and above it three lines... the bahro must have recognized it because he took it the that "slate holder" that has that symbol on it... (and on the slate, it registered the drawing in the right bottom side, so it must have recognized it). so why doesn't it work when i'm trying to get the steam? is there anything else that i could have done wrong/haven't done?

P.S. Did you see a flash of light when the Bahro did picked up the slate ?

If he accepted your drawing, you should also see it on the slate to be used again. Just click it and drop the slate near the lake to be able to see kind of green line-path over the lake.

Btw, it is very irrespectfull to post all over the the forums and threads. If I was you, I would delete all the other ones.

by the way, i've tried virtually every walkthrough i could find and still haven't managed to pass that place.
as for my other messages, i posted in the forum of myst 4 by accident, thinking it was myst 5.. and here i posted in two places i think, not knowing which is the right place... i'll try to delete them but i'm not sure i'll succeed since this is the first time i'm using these forums (this is my first day here).

btw... there wasn't a flash of light when the bahro picked up the slate... nor was there ever white clouds of steam rising (for example, before i crossed the bridge leading to the huts). i saw in walkthroughs that it should have happened (esepcially in the bridge), but it hasn't...
and as for the pipes, i turned all the levers to the right, so that should have done the trick...
what does it mean?? because the drawing is correct (the bahro recognizs it and takes it to the "slate holder" next to the huts)...

ok, here's an update... i drew the drawing that is on the slate holder next to the huts, and dropped the slate.. the first time the bahro returned it to the slate holder, but the second time he just kept standing there and thinking. when i tried to pick up the slate, it turned out that i can't go in the direction where the bahro and slate are- no matter what i do!!
i went to the lake, and i think i'm seeing something different there, some green color and the lake seems like it's been nuked or something... still, minutes after that, the bahro still doesn't move and i can't pick up the slate, no matter what i do. is it a bug? did i do something right?
someone please help!! lol.. i'm so frustrated of this game...

There are, often, problems with the Myst 5 slates.

If you cannot pick the slate, I would suggest you first save the game, quit the game and come back using this save. If it still does not work, I would suggest you use an earlier save and re-start from there.

In his walkthrough, Bert Jarmin (?) says the controls on the left are blue. In my game the contols on the right are blue. Does this mean I have to set the levers in a different way? If you could help, that would be really great. I have set the levers the way the walkthrough says and nothing happens.

I am not too certain where you are stuck. Would you please give us a bit more details ? (age and location for the levers)

But if you are talking about the switches in Tahgira, it would depends in which direction you are coming from but it is not important because one side is red and the other side is blue.

You do not have to play both at the same time and you can do it, one after the other. Once the switches are set, they will not change/reset if you make an error or not.

I hope I am not too late to clear up a possible misinderstanding.

When I said that, "Once the switches are set, they will not change/reset if you make an error". I meant that the game, itself, would not automatically reset the switches.

But in case of an error, you would be able to change them again and again until you get them to work.
