Welcome to the Forums!

If you made it this far, you must have moved the tram when you were at the other end, on the pillar where you arrived in Todelmer. This now prevents you from climbing into it.
Is that enough as a hint?

I actually don't have a reply, but a question, but couldn't find the question selection, sorry. I have moved the tram into position, but my hand is clear, which means I cannot go where I point, which means, I cannot get onto the tram to climb down the ladder into the tram. Tried several times, carefully. Let me know if I have overlooked something or otherwise....I'm anxious to continue my journey....thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

At the top of the list of threads, there is a menu Go, New, Find, etc. Click New > Discussion to start a new thread.

It may help to switch between modes by pressing 1, 2 or 3 on the keyboard. Sometimes an action that is difficult in one mode is easy in another one. If that doesn't help, make sure that the tram is in its extreme position. If it's not, you can't descend into it.

Another Tram problem...
Am in the tram, power is on, have successfully called a Bahro to move the planet rings. Whether that is happening or not, the tram lever is not active. Putting the cursor anywhere on the lever from inside the tram gives only a solid hand, and if clicked, moves me out of the tram. Same thing from the outside of the tram. The lever appears inactive. I tried following a walkthrough, but the same thing happens... no change when cursor is over the tram lever. Is this a tech problem or a gameplay problem?

Are you certain you have the power on ?

from Bert Jamin
quote:
Turn to the right and enter the building. Walk around the center column and climb up the next stairs. First you have to set power to this station too. Move the left lever up just above the center. Move the right lever also just past the center. As soon as the inner ring starts to rotate you have powered up the station. It is possible that you have to move these little levers to another position too. As I described before, this can differ in every game

And/or, do you have the proper symbol as seen on a wall inside ? Hint: inversed "T".

P.S.

I can a few possibilities where things could go wrong.

V.I.P. The tram must be facing in the right direction. Read Dave's post...click here

1- The power is not on. Do you have the "rotatating circle" at the power panel.

2- Did you bring the slate with you and drawn the proper symbol ?

3- After dropping the slate far away enough from the tram (+- under door entrance) did you run to the tram behind the lever, turned around and face the Bahro ?

4- What was the Bahro reaction ? Did he accept your drawing and made its magic ? or did he scratched its head, or look angry ?

5- As soon as he goes away and if everything is ok, you should now click on the lever and go for a ride. Halfway, at middle stop station, check around for clue.

wstrohm, in my game I ran into the same problem and it's a position problem. Try moving closer to the lever (or farther, I forget). Dave

nanoukmetal and Dave McB., I appreciate your responses. I have played this game before (same copy, different computer) and went right through this portion with no trouble.

1- The power is not on. Do you have the "rotatating circle" at the power panel.

Yes, power is on, I opened the door at top of stairs and accessed the upside-down "T" symbol. Drew it on the tablet while upstairs outside, and Bahro came and fired up the planet rings. Went back down to the tram with the tablet.

2- Did you bring the slate with you and drawn the proper symbol ?

Yes (see above).

3- After dropping the slate far away enough from the tram (+- under door entrance) did you run to the tram behind the lever, turned around and face the Bahro ?

No... did not try that.

4- What was the Bahro reaction ? Did he accept your drawing and made its magic ? or did he scratched its head, or look angry ?

No problem when the Bahro originally picked up the tablet (see above).

5- As soon as he goes away and if everything is ok, you should now click on the lever and go for a ride. Halfway, at middle stop station, check around for clue.

And here is the problem. As I move the cursor over the "brake" lever in the tram, it remains a solid hand pointer, and if I click it, I go zooming back into the hallway. Turn around, same thing... I go zooming back into the tram (Classic Plus mode). I switched to Free Movement mode, which allows me to get a lot closer to the lever; even to the side of it as opposed to front or back. The cursor never changes. It's as if the lever is not an active area of the screen, or as if it isn't there.

Is it time to re-install the game? Haven't had any trouble in Taghira, or the Great Shaft, or Direbo.

I don't think you need to reinstall the game yet. Try going back to a saved game, for example before you arrived at the third pillar. This hasn't failed for me yet when I encountered a glitch.

Wanted to thank y'all for the suggestions. Dropping the slate near the tram didn't help, although the Bahro complied with the upside down "T." However, starting from a saved game previous to coming to the third pedestal did the trick. The "brake release lever" worked fine.

(It's weird when a replay has problems that didn't exist first time around!)
