Please help!!! We are on Todelmer we have the power running, we have the coordinates for the circle with the upper right fourth missing. We have the tram to us, the power is still on. We can get into the tram but the tram lever won't move. We have climbed on top and pushed everything there is to push on the tram. We haven't found any other symbols or coordinates. We can't figure out what to do with the other three controls in the red room and have tried a lot of D'ni number combinations on the other three controls. We feel really stupid to need help this soon, we have to be missing something simple!!! ARGHHH!!!

A couple of things to mention:
The tram is on a separate circuit than the power system you activated in the red room, so it won't work on this side of the line... unfortunately, that pretty much means you've winched it all the way over for nothing (though there is good reason for the crank to be there in the first place, which should become apparent when you get farther along). Have you looked around through the small telescope at the top of the pillar (the small one, right at the top of the stairway)? If so, was your view particularly obstructed by anything at any time, and do you think there might be a way to remove that obstruction? Your next step pretty much hinges on finding something in that scope and applying it correctly. ---------- Guild of Archivists, D'niPedia Writers Ring (DPWR.NET) Uru and Myst Forum Moderator / Community Assistant Do not PM me for tech support or hint requests for the Myst series |

Thank you Alahmnat! When we went to the telescope on the first pillar we noticed, after looking around, that the view of the little pillar with just the symbol and the telescope on it was partially blocked by what looked to be a big spool or gear type thing. We didn't even consider trying to look at that pillar again to see if we had changed anything because we thought we had to be somewhere else to see it until we read your reply to our post. When we went back and looked at the other pillar it was now in view and we were able to get the symbol off of that pillar and used both telescopes to get another symbol off a different pillar. We aren't exactly sure why we can see the other pillar now, was it moving the tram lever a little at a time that moved the spool or was it that we just had the telescope improperly focused? Oh, well atleast we are on our way again. Sorry for rambling!

It was indeed fiddling with the tram lever that moves the spool out of the way. I would recommend keeping an eye out for this sort of thing pretty often on Todelmer, as there's a lot of moving parts ---------- Guild of Archivists, D'niPedia Writers Ring (DPWR.NET) Uru and Myst Forum Moderator / Community Assistant Do not PM me for tech support or hint requests for the Myst series |
