I am running in Windows ME, and starting from a saved game in Laki'ahn. I used the left button on the windmill to open the gates from the holding pen to the arena, and I can see they are open from the outside, but when I link in the gates are shut.

Do you have any solutions or work-arounds? Thanks.

My apologies - I was simply disoriented and rotated the cage incorrectly. I was able to complete the game.

Nevertheless, I did experience several real save-game and other glitches that spoiled a few puzzles for me.

1) Saved game after raising the floor in the shaft. When I restored I was below the floor instead on on top. This gave away a puzzle.

2) Tried to write the rain symbol for the first time (upside-down). It was misread by the Bahro and I ended up being able to link to the top of Esher's study immediately. It was humorous, because I passed Esher sitting on the stairs as I walked down but he spoke as if I came from the other direction.

3) Tried a round symbol with three slashes across it on the astronomy world (something I saw in the telescope control room I thought might be a symbol). It let me link to the keep immediately.

#3 I've heard of but the other two, no. How odd!

I'm a Mac player and quite unusually had no issues at all with the game! Go figure!

It appears #3 is also a common problem, according to the sticky thread about "slate problems." It looks like in Noloben if you guess any circle-based shape you have a good chance of being sent directly to the keep.

I went back to a saved game and solved that age correctly, as they suggested.
