Hello all, wow, it's been what seems like a few years since I've been here.

I've finished EOA and am now actually going back to do Riven and Exile (I discovered the series with URU and got hooked), still stuck in the spider chair in Myst 4...even with the patch and a video a great friend here sent to help out, just can't get it done right...oh well.

But I was just thinking, has there been anything new along the lines of the old Myst series that's to come down the road? I know the whole deal with EOA and Cyan, but I also heard they were saved and were working on a new series or that Myst wasn't really at an end with #5 (EOA).

I would simply jump at the next release....dang it folks, I need a new game of Myst to bug the heck outta my mind....LOL

Anyways, was also thinking about a great soundtrack for the game. I'm not just talking about the main song, I'm talking about a band making all the music, interlaced throught the game. Each based on the world you're in, customized as you would to fit the mood of the world. Who better than Pink Floyd? I mean really. Think about their old stuff, not the stuff you hear on the radio, but the other great tunes you never hear becuase they're too long or not commercial enough....but great music nonetheless (any true Pink Floyd fan knows what I'm talking about). I think they would be the perfect band (fantastic sound quaility) for a Myst-type game. I think David Gilmour would love to do something along those lines....all instrumentals....damn that would be freaking great!

From all the interviews and article I've read over the past few years, I don't belive we will ever seen another Myst game. It's sad, but the time for this special genre has come and gone. I don't belive people would pay much attention if another were to be released. Todays "youth" isn't intrigued by it's slow moving universe.

I myself is probably one of the biggest fans there evere were for the series, I own every single copy in collectors edition and. Even have 3 copis of the fist game, the original, the later remasted version and RealMyst. Not to mention Riven, the initial 5CD release, and the following DVD release with better video

There is no doubt that this is one of the greatest game series ever made, both the sales and the community has showen that over the years - if was one hell of a ride!

Yep, for the last year there was something new.
It was called Mystonline, Urulive (MO:UL) through Gametap.

Unfortunately, it will be terminated this wednesday because there was not enough subscriptions.

The Uru community is very sad at this moment and still hoping we get another chance. That too, was a hell of a ride.

We are trying to stay in touch and Second Life was suggested but after three visits over there, I am still totally lost.

SL sure made one appreciates Uru Live even more.

Did we ever miss the boat with this new Uru Live version.

Tony Van, the producer of Myst V will be at the Adventure Game Expo in Atlantic City. Maybe he will have some news about the series at the expo???
