I have read many othe posts and haven't quite found my exact situation.
I've linked into the cage and the door is open. I am standing facing the pedestal and the door is open directly in front of me (in front of the pedestal). According to the walkthrough I checked(in desperation) I should now "turn right and go forward to exit the cage. Walk straight forward through the water. Walk to the center of the Arena...." Well, I have tried to walk through the open gate and I can't! I don't see anything that looks like and arena, it is just more caged in water!?
Do I need to readjust levers on the windmill? The steps I have taken so far.
1. Pulled left lever
2. Pulled center lever
3. pressed left button(immediately right of center lever)
4.Pulled right lever
5. pressed right button(immediately to the left of right lever)
6. Ran to cage, noted Bahro sign
7. Used Bahro sign to link into cage but couldn't do anything so I linked out.
8. Went back to wind mill...made more wind
9. Pulled left lever
10 pulled right lever
11. pressed right button(immediately to the left of right lever)
12 Then linked back to cage.
This puts me in the position I described above.
What am I doing wrong? Or is it a gliche.

I did check your list and can three possible problems and one wrong move.

In step #3, you have to click and hold the red button until it goes inside the control panel.

In step #4, after pulling the right small lever, you have to wait for the lever to come back to its original position before pushing a red button. I beleive you are using the wrong red button. In all instances, only the leftmost red button will work for you. The rightmost red button is defective and not used in the game.

Then you have to go to the linking bubble, draw the first cage section symbol, drop the slate, and wait for the Bahro to accept your drawing. If he does, he will bring the slate to the pedestal inside the cage. You touch the new symbol on pedestal inside the bubble, link inside the cage, retreive the slate and if you played right, exit the the central cage to second section where a corner door should now be opened toward a watery path to the big arena.

Notes.

1- The big left lever is used to activate the windmill.

2- the center lever is used to raise the pedestal

3- the leftmost red button is used to open a door in a corner (one only) of a second section after the central cage that will give you access to the big arena.

4- The small lever on the right is used to rotate the central cage.

jcharbonneau, just to give you some hints;

The cage can rotate and go up and down. There is only one level and direction that will let you get out and go where you need to go.

Questions:

1; Are you at the right level?
2; Are you facing the right direction?
3; Have you opened the way?

To answer these questions you need to know exactly what each level and button at the control panel does. nanoukmetal has given you a good list. Hope this helps. Dave
