I seem to be yhaving the same problem as outofit was having with his/her tram because I've reeled it in from the tram extension ontop of the enterence to the "red room" and switched the lever once the door opened for me and tried to push/pull the lever and it won't work for me with or without the power on in the "red room" my scopes are set as the ones appear to be enscribed in the rock on either side of the extension wire connecting each end of the system. How can I get my tram lever to work the way I want it to so I can make to the other side. Could somebody help me please?

If it won't go, it's probably not got power.

1- First of all it should be noted that the lever is only a brake release.

2- You will need the slate plus a special Bahro symbol you should have seen all the way up the stairs near the entrance/exit door.

3- It is the Bahro who will provide the power after you have drawn the proper symbol, dropped the slate somewhere under the door and you, waiting in the tram for the Bahro's magic. After he has left with the slate, then you can release the brake. Make sure to get the new coordinates at the first stop.

nanoukmetal,
I brought the tram to me manually then I went back to the beginning to retreive the slate then returned back to where the tram platform was I drew a symbol that I had saw on a map inside the building the bahro came and took the slate. Nothing happened with the brake release. I checked the other side and copied down the coordinates that I saw on the wall under the platform on the other side. still no power on the tram's break release. So I went back down to the bubble where I started and touched on a symbol that I saw on the podium I was brought to an enclosed area where I was met by one of the games characters and they told me my journey was half complete. The tablet was stationed on the final harness and all I could do was touch and warp, the tablet did not come with me. I then went back to check the tram, there was power on the other side but my brake lever still wouldn't work so I saved the game and closed out. Is there any way of getting the tram to the other side with me in it not using the tablet? Confused

secanacompt, I'll try to clarify some things for you;
1: The lever isn't a brake release, it's a direction changer. Pointed to the left (away from the mesa where the red room is) and the tram will move away from you when you pull the crank. Pointed to the right (towards the mesa) and pulling the crank will, as I believe you already know, move the tram toward you.
2: As you discovered, drawing non-slate symbols on the slate (read the pinned Slate Bug post at the top of the list) can have unexpected, and adverse, effects. The enclosed area is the Keep area and the ending of this age (hope you have an earlier saved game). Slate symbols are clearly indicated by the slate shaped outlines around them.
3: If, as you posted, you have cranked the tram over to the mesa where the red room is then, unfortunately, you have more cranking to do as the tram needs to be at the other end.
4: If there is no power to the tram and the power is on in the red room, then perhaps there is another power source that you need to find?

Hope this helps. Dave
