First I had a problem with the Heat Symbol in Taghira.

Starting over I make way through that age, and onto Todelmer.

Exploring around I found the telescope with 3 symbols, a 3/4 circle (looks like pacman lol) and 2 D'ni numbers. Out of curiosity I put the pacman symbol on the slate and the creature took it, and disappeared. Going to the starting petistal, this symbol had unlocked the way to the end of the age, which is NOTHING like the end pedistals symbol, and thus Ive bypassed the entire age.

Hmmm, this seems to be the biggest bug infested Myst game yet, and for that I blame Atrus. If he hadn't passed on he could keep these ages in order!!!

Cyan was on a tight budget and under enormous time pressure when they created End of Ages, so it is more buggy than previous games indeed. And since UbiSoft pulled the plug on further development, it is very unlikely that a patch will be issued.

As I noted in a reply to your earlier question, the slate system is not perfect. The "pacman" symbol problem is the most notorious of these. You'll have to reload a saved game from before you drew the pacman symbol.

I can't get to the end because the Bahro keeps rejecting my drawing of the symbol. I've drawn it a million times and tried dropping it in different places.
All the way through I've found the last symbol of the age to be the hardest to get accepted, but this last item is ridiculous!

I do not quite follow you with your problem.

1- The heat sumbol is not the last one

2- If you have been able to near the end of that age, it would mean that your heat symbol did its job.

To be able to help you, we would need more infos.

Sorry I didn't give enough info. I'm at the end of Laki'ahn, trying to get the Bahro to accept my drawing of that weird thing (that was on the flag seen through the window) and light up the sign on the pedestal to take me to the Keep. It's my last tablet to enter so I suppose I'm near the end of the game.

Full of hope, I copied your drawing onto my slate. Ten times. The Bahro just dumps it straight back onto the starting pedestal. I CAN really draw, honestly! Does it make any difference where you drop the slate? I've tried taking it back to various places, but it always ends up on the starting pedestal. I had this trouble with tle last symbol for Todelmer, too, but finally got the thing to work.

I have tried in the past to help many people with this particular problem but from memory, none of them came back with a feedback to tell us what was missing or wrong.

So If you are dedicated enough, I sure would like to find what the "big" problem could be.

It is much like if something is missing or a symbol drawing problem. I will start with a small walkthrough before making suggestions.

Note that the color of the slates are going to be be different than yours.

1- In this last section of Laki'ahn, you come out through the door into the back section.

2- You find a pedestal and make the symbol for that one. Symbol picture...click here

3- V.I.P. Then you have to go to a ship wreck on the beach and meet with Esher. Did you ?

4- Next you have to solve the stones weight puzzle for access to the flag/keep symbol. (slate and wind symbol, needed to see the flag)

5- You need now to go to main bubble through the above pedestal.

6- Draw the "Keep" symbol on the slate...click here (note that the eye is a bit lower than the small vertical line at the right)

Note that on this drawing, the two tail fins are of equal lenght.


Big Spoiler: You have now two choices.

Drop the slate on the floor inside the main bubble and make sure to exit bubble and stand far away enough.

Or even better, put the slate on the pedestal exit the bubble and go for a little walk around and come back to the bubble and check if you did get the new Keep symbol on the pedestal inside the bubble.

If none of the above work, come back and we will try something else.

Eureka!! Your picture of the symbol with a dark blue background showed exactly what I'd done wrong. My eyesight is bad and in that roaring dusty wind and bright light I missed the tail fins completely. I went back to the window and called up the wind again, and sure enough there were the tail fins, though it's very easy to miss them. So it was all my fault. Thanks for your patience and help.

When you get to the new place make sure to make a save before playing the endings. You have many possibilities (choices). With a save, you have a chance to go for different endings. Only one is a good ending.
