I can't seem to find ANYTHING to help with information on the light combinations to get out of the puzzle room once I go in.

Please just tell me where they are and a little hint on how to identify them. No REAL spoilers please.

Thank you so very much

Can you tell us where you are? "Puzzle room" is rather vague.

tHE PUZZLE ROOM WITH THE RED GREEN AN YELLOW LIGHTS. ONCE YOU'RE IN - THERE'S NO WAY OUT UNLESS YOU GET THE LIGHTS IN THE RIGHT COMBINATION I THINK.

IS THAT ENOUGH INFORMATION.

Hi Mara and Vogelaar,

The only place that comes to mind would have to be the second floor after the second-inside elevator in Laki'ahn.

If it is , I hope Mara previously found a piece of paper with the right color sequence. Did you, Mara ?

Btw, If you know how to put up a signature at the bottom of your posts, it would be a good idea to tell people you have eyes handicap.
This way the old and hard gamers might be more tolerent. Wink2

Is that true, Mara?
If Nanoukmetal is right, well, I beg your pardon. I'm deeply sorry, I never meant to laugh at you.

No problem Yeeshaval. I've done all the Myst/Riven games and loved them. Now I have M.S. and it is affecting my vision and cognition. So I'm having more trouble with this. Can't seem to keep the names of the ages straight.

The puzzle room I'm talking about is on the island where you find the pedestal right next to the door. And where there are a lot of bones of animals I think. Tell ME the name of the age or island. Too Happy Laki'ahn maybe?

I've got all the journals, a mechanical diagram from the bed, and one other pieceof paper (don't remember what's on it right now).

I saw a light configurati8on by the telescope - is that helpful in that puzzle room in Laki'ahn?

Oh I'm so confused, and don't want to resort to a walk through to get ideas from.

Someone give me some direction here, please?

Thanks.

Hi Mara:

It definitely sounds like you're in Laki'ahn and I think it sounds like you're in the Maze at the top of the elevator inside the arena maybe?

You should have seen a piece of paper back in the building by the start that had 5 colors on it. Those colors are the order you need to follow the lights. A hint though is to pay attention to which way the paper was lying... the sequence is one way and not the other.

Once in the maze, standing by where you came up on the round platform elevator, look down the hallways until you see which hallway has the first two colors in a row as you saw on the paper. Then follow them and head toward the other colors on the paper.

The one door you're looking for does have a different looking handle (darker), so you could also do it by trial and error.

I didn't come up on a round platform, I came in through the door right next to the pedestal.

and the paper I found only has 2 colors on it. Do I have the right paper?

There should be 4 "paintbrush swipes" on a rectangular piece of paper inside the "Jewelry shop." But IIRC there are only 3 colors there. (However, you must be in the maze at the top of the inside elevator, for this to make any sense.) Unfortunately, I found several places where the correct sequence could be clicked, but nothing happened. If you want a strong spoiler, read down.

Stand with your back to the blue light you can see from the top of the elevator, and go straight ahead.

The one I'm talking about is NOT the one at the top of the cage elevator, but thank you very much Bularae and wstrohm because I am doing that one now.

But I didn't find a paper when I entered the arena. Where is it?

The one I was talking about is the one found in the rocks just up from the broken down ship by the dock.

OK - in the arena - NO PIECE OF PAPER THERE. Must be further on. I've gotten the platform with the linking pedestal down - but can't figure out anything else here. I've noticed a difference in the red "weights" at the pressure plate, but can't seem to correlate that with anything other than holding or not holding the slate. Have tried several things here, including trying to leave the slate on the plate while going to the platform to go UP.

Not successful.

A little help here would be nice. I won't get to the puzzle room you are referring to until I can get up, right?

THANKS.

Hi Mara,
( spoiler of sorts )

The platform with the pedestal in the arena is weight sensitive. When the platform was up, did you notice the settings on the four posts. Also there is a pressure plate where you can weight yourself with the slate. The idea is to set the four posts with your weight and the platform weight combined. Once done, go back to original bubble in that age, and link to the pedestal on the platform. The color code can be found after this is done.

Problem is, I didn't make note of the four posts BEFORE I stepped on the plate, I just went and changed them. I suppose I have to go back to a previous save and see if I can get in there to look. Hammer

Dear Mara,
reading this thread I had the feeling that you are proceeding backwards, in some way...
I mean, you've been talking about a dock, a sunken ship, the door for the maze right next to a pedestal...sounds like Laki'ahn ,right, but seems as if you're entering the maze from the exit! How's that possible? How did you get there? Did you draw something on the slate and found yourself over there?
If so, you are proceeding the wrong way: the access to the maze is supposed to be from the Arena.

YOU are absolutely right Yeeshaval. I was entering the maze from the EXIT. HOW? I don't know - but I did make it up the lift and I did make it into the maze and I did make it through so I exited through that same door I had originally entered.

SORRY for having ranted so much here on this one. It's no wonder that ppl were probably thinking I was a raving idiot here. Googly

Since I can't seem to find anything more to take care of here, I'm going back to the iceage and try AGAIN to get across that frozen pond there.

THANKS everyone for being so kind and patient with me during this post.

I WILL NOW SIGN OFF THIS POST AND START A NEW ONE IF I NEED TO.

You are all great bow as always!!!!
