Despite more attempts than i can remember to free the sticky right hand lever on the controls at the windmill I still can't get it to shift and rotate the central pedestal area in the cage. I have also gone back to previous saved games in Noloben or Direbo more times than I can remember to start again. I have also tried going back to previous saves quitting the game and also restarting the computer. One time I did this I found myself in the corridors by the arena without even landing in the Laki'ahn big squelchy bubble. So I carried on from there and solved the counterweight problem only to find that i could not link back to the bubble in order to teleport back to the pedestal in the arena seeing as I couldn't get out through the canal. I again returned to a saved game and am back stuck at the windmill. I have looked at all the walkthroughs and advice on sticky right lever problems but nothing works.
Odd because the first time I visited Laki'ahn the windmill puzzle worked perfectly. It was also daylight. It now seems to be permanent night and has been for days while i try to get unstuck.
Everything else has worked fine.

Thanks for advice. I had already read these posts though and it still does not work. The right hand lever stays in the down position no matter how long I wait for it to move.
I had done this puzzle before with no problems but then completely lost my slate and had to return to a previous save. When I first arrived at the cage the bars were up on both sides so that I could not get into the middle and there was no sign of the pedestal. Now every time I start a new game the bars are open the near side and the pedestal is sticking out of the water. The pedestal rises and lowers correctly with the center lever, the doors the far end of the cage open with the red button, but the rotation just seems stuck.

Hello again,

I have found an old thread (2pages) where somebody had the same problem you have...click here

His solution was to start a new game and I would suggest you do the Laki'ahn age first. It did work out ok for him.

Thanks for the sensible advice - I'll do just that. Shouldn't be too bad to start a new game apart from having to listen to Esher blathering on. Smile

Nanouk gives Esher a no return boat ticket (slow type) to China.
Veryhappy Too Happy Veryhappy

Only Heimdall at the Myst V, Technical Forum could tell you why the game can do that to you.
