I've looked everywhere. Does it have something to do with the counterweight system? Do I need to drain the water somehow? Help please! You have to use the counterweight to open two doors. The first one at the bottom of a tunnel can be found on the other side (beach-seaside) of the rockhill. No water to drain.

I am not certain if we are talking about the same thing. Laki'ahn handle/rope and rock counterweights. Starting from the left is #1(very hard to see handle) click/pull handles, 1, 2, 3 and 6. (#6 not to be mistaken as/with a #7)

nanoukmetal, From "counterweight" and "elevator" in the first post, it is the puzzle to access the rear door of the first building in Laki'ahn. (Getting the weight of the player plus the pedestal to line up with the catwalk.)

Those are completely different puzzles. My problem is to identify which one you are talking about. (your 5.5 comment got me lost) Would you like a link to a walkthrough or wait for us to find the right answers ? Btw, that first "back door" might well be the back door entrance to the rooms of the building where you first meet Esher in Laki'ahn. I will try to come back with an image in about one hour. Is that the back door you are looking for ? (Tower-Cylinder-Elevator needed to get to proper level)

The "rings" are the concentric circles marking how much weight each particular "switch" is worth; the ones near the pedestal. Your picture is what he is writing about, although I cannot see the catwalk or bridge in your pic. deetwee, You need to write down the amount of weight holding the pedestal at the correct height without your weight, by noting the positions of the switches when you first arrive. Then you need to weigh yourself (with your slate) on the scale, and adjust the switches to compensate for your weight, and then press the activator and jump on the pedestal when it's down, before it starts to rise.
