The game was working great until I downloaded the latest patch ( PC version 1.03). Now I am getting the message that Myst 4 has caused an error in MSVCR71.DLL and will now close. I have restarted the system to no avail. I did a search for the file and found four of them. One in Windows, and 3 in Myst. I tried deleting the file that was attached to the update but it didn't help. Any ideas?

I would suggest reinstalling the game and not using the patch if it was already working fine.

And if a simple re-install doesn't help, try a clean boot re-install as detailed in Myst IV: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP.

Thanks, guys. Before reinstalling I ran Scandisk and tried it again. It started up and is running fine now. So on with the game...
