Welcome to the Forums!

Suggestions regarding the jumpy POV:

1. Check Myst IV: Posting Guidelines and System Requirements to be certain that your system meets the minimum requirements, that you have a supported video chipset, etc.

2. Correctly install the proper driver for your video chipset. See Myst IV: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP.

3. Install the latest driver from your mouse’s manufacturer. Use only a mouse with Revelation, not a touchpad or a joystick.

4. If none of the above help, re-install Revelation from a clean boot as detailed in Myst IV: Clean Boot
Install/Re-install With Win XP
.

For the patch I think you’re talking about, see Revelation Window Autopatcher, For those with TFT Screens Above 17".

Did you get the patcher file from SnowDog?

Conventional wisdom sez that "since I've got a really new PC, all my drivers *must* be the latest". That's not necessarily the case, since PC manufacturers often don't install the latest drivers!

Especially with Vista, drivers are evolving (and improving) very rapidly.
-- Unless you've installed the latest NVIDIA driver in the last few days, take a look at Myst IV: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP. And if you did install the latest driver, did you do it correctly? Again, take a look at....
-- How 'bout your mouse driver?

Try running the Program Compatibility Wizard. For details, see How to start the Program Compatibility Wizard in Windows Vista. If you don't want to run the Wizard, you can just try Compatibility Mode, which is invoked as with Win XP.

Try what's called out in:
-- How to troubleshoot application compatibility issues in Windows Vista
-- How to troubleshoot issues that may prevent a program from being installed correctly on a Windows Vista-based computer
-- Advanced methods to troubleshoot a program that does not run as expected after it is installed on Windows Vista

You may well need to re-install Revelation from a clean boot. Don't neglect that possibility.

As a further comment, whether you play any of the Myst-series games or not, you should very strongly consider downloading and installing these Four Must-Have Vista Updates.
