I sure hope someone can help. I was directed here by another helper from the 'spoilers' forum. I've checked another site with hints/tips/walkthroughs...I've done everthing (I think) in Spire. Yet, the book at the starting chamber will not open. The chair has power and the elevator from the chair...saw the colored 'dots' on that elevator...Is this another Mac gliche? Did I forget something?
Just to be certain we're all on the same page and even though you're using a Mac, download Bert Jamin's Myst 4 Revelation walkthrough, print it out, and *carefully* work through the entireSpire chapter. If that doesn't solve the problem, post back.
Wow. I feel like a total dunce. Proof I'm playing for too long at a time. Someone else mentioned a cursor 'hot spot' and after reading the chapter you mentioned, I tried again with the book before restarting the ENTIRE game, since I save as I go...the hand opened, the book opened and I linked back. I was thinking I just had to touch and click...*blushes* Thanks for the advice though! I do appreciate it very much!
And yeah, I know what you mean. Many times I've looked at something in a game and looked at it wrong each time. But that makes it all the sweeter when the something finally works....
