After installing Myst IV, my computer restarts frequently, even when the game is not running.

System:
Windows XP service pack 1.
nVidia GeForce FX 5200
128MB video memory
AMD Athlon XP 3200
512MB RAM

is there a reason for this restarting common to the game?

Have you done complete virus, spyware, and adware scans since you installed Revelation? A common cause of involuntary rebooting is a malware infestation picked up from the Internet.

Last week I had similar problems while playing "The Longuest Journey" and because I insisted too many times in a row, I did experience a full pc crash. (Had to make a new pc installation).
