I had tried everything I had read on this forum to get my Myst IV running - it crashed right after start. I thought it was a CD/DVD firmware problem, Windows XP problem, etc. like everybody else did. I tried clean istallation, patches, re-installation, uninstall clone drives, etc... Nothing helped. Then I have read somewhere: the My Documents folder MUST be on the C:\ drive. That was it!!! I moved it back to the C:\ drive, and Myst IV works!! Nothing else was needed! That was it!
