Hi guys! I've been trying to get my copy of Myst working via forum trawling on and off for the last few days and I've finally given up and decided to ask for help.

What's happened so far:
1: Installed the game, wouldn't recognize the disks upon starting the game

2: fixed (can't remember what download was called but you got a m4_thor_rd.dll file with it)

3: Memory could not be "read" error

4: fixed with patch version 1 and updates, for some reason version 2 and 3 took me straight back to problem 1...

5: Try to start up Myst IV, black screen and egg timer come up as if it's doing something, then it just bins out. But at least I'm not getting any error messages now lol!

Can anyone help? I'm not really good with computers so small words would be appreciated XD Many thanks!

I tried fiddling about with patches and updates as well as the m4_thor_rd.dll download thing and it now works ^^;

It's good that you got Revelation working!

For the benefit of others:

1. The Revelation (Windows PC) patches are:
-- Version 1.02, available here.
-- Version 1.03, available here.

I recommend applying the 1.02 patch and then immediately applying the 1.03 patch. The 1.02 patch is 41.1 MB, while the 1.03 patch is only 15.4 MB, which may mean there's "good stuff" included in 1.02 that isn't included in 1.03. See also Myst IV: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP.

2. For Myst4-103-nDVD.zip, which contains m4_thor_rd.dll, see Myst IV: Patch for Please Insert Correct CD Error.
