The first thing to do is make certain that the Revelation sound settings are correct.
-- a. Start Revelation, and click on the OPTIONS button (7 o'clock position in button circle on brown book/startup menu). -- b. Click on the AUDIO OPTIONS icon (2nd main icon from left at top of right-hand page). ----- 1. Set the 'Overall volume' slider (top slider) at 100, all the way to the right. If there isn't an X in the checkbox, click on the box to put one in it. ----- 2. Set the 'Music volume' slider (middle slider) at 100. Put an X in the checkbox. ----- 3. Set the 'Music frequency' slider (bottom slider) at 100. No checkbox. -- c. When the settings are correct, click on the 'Go back to main menu' icon (bottom right corner of right-hand page). -- d. Play Revelation. If you still don't have sound, post a DxDiag report in this topic so that we can take a look at your system and make recommendations. See [Posting Guidelines] Help! I'm Having Technical Problems and I Don't Know Why!?!, under POSTING GUIDELINES, To post a DxDiag report for a how-to. Run all of the graphics and sound tests you can before saving the report to a file, and post *all* of the file. If the manufacturer and exact model number of your PC aren't shown under 'System Information' (System Manufacturer and System Model) at the top of the report, also be certain to include that information in your post. Hi!
I purchased a copy of Myst IV today and I have the same problem. My audio drivers are updated and of course I checked the game options. The game setup software tells tht my soundcard is well detected. I also installed the 1.03 patch, but this doesn't fix my problem... Needless to say: I checked that all volume options were ok on my PC. I have done a full install of Myst IV, but the second disc is in my drive. Here is a DxDiag: (edited) This message has been edited. Last edited by: Wallace_42212, |

Questions:
1. Are you having sound problems of any sort, with any other program? 2. Before installing the Audigy driver package, did you: -- a. Log into Windows with full Administrator privileges? -- b. Disable your anti-virus software? -- c. Close all unnecessary background applications and processes? (See step 4 in Myst IV: Miscellaneous Fixes for Video Problems.) 3. Did you install the latest Audigy 2 driver package from Creative, "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004"? Heimdall Semper ubi sub ubi |

All right, I've done the Audigy update with the link you provided and now everything is working fine.
I don't really understand what it was since Creative Auto Update told me my dirver was already updated. Moreover, the driver version listed in the Audigy properties seems to be the same... Anyway, it's all right now. Thank you very much for this quick answer! |
