Color wheel in Spire needed for puzzle to unlock door in Serenia is only showing 4 colors (green, cyan, 2 magentas, and 2 blues) No yellow or red. So don't know placement of 4 colors. Have tried adjusting brightness, contrast, etc. to no avail. Tried a bunch of guessing combos on door - to no avail. Any suggestions? (I'd be glad to attach the screenshot of the color wheel - if someone would tell me how I do that, exactly)

OK, that's an analog input flat-panel. My suspicion was that it might be an older CRT monitor experiencing color shifts due to age, but not so. Do you have monitor color problems of any sort, or any monitor problems in general?
Before exploring hardware and/or driver problems any further, let's make certain you're doing the Serenia door puzzle properly. The colors of the dots on the Spire medallion (color wheel) are different for each new Revelation game, and it's possible that there aren't yellow or red dots on your medallion. It's very important to use the in-game Camera to take a picture of the medallion, or otherwise note the dots' colors and their positions. This is done after pulling down the small lever in the center of the medallion, and/or after you take the elevator back up. For the Serenia door puzzle, first position the color dots on the inner ring exactly as they are on your medallion. To move a dot, click on it, and white lines will show the positions to which it can be moved. Click on a position to select it, and the dot will move to that position. When the inner-ring dots are positioned correctly, position the dots on the outer ring so that the color of a dot on the inner ring together with the two dot colors on either side of it on the outer ring (forming a triangle) make the color white. The combinations for white are (a) red/green/blue, and (b) magenta/yellow/cyan. Be certain *not* to group a red, green or blue dot with a magenta, yellow or cyan dot. When finished, you'll end up with 6 triangles. Then push the button on the bottom of the door to open it. Heimdall Semper ubi sub ubi |

i've got the problem-solving aspect down, but with only 4 colors showing from spire, there just aren't enough marbles in the puzzle to work. the only solution possible is with 6 different colors in the center. i did read somewhere that on some monitors cyan can look blue, and vice versa. but i got 2 cyan and 2 blue. i can attach a screen shot if that would help to clarify anything - i'm just not sure how to do that.
thanks once again for all your help! |

Yeah, I figured you were doing the problem solving correctly, but it was worth a shot.
Your monitor may in fact be the problem, bearing in mind its age, so let's push on to the hardware and/or driver issues. If you'll post a DxDiag report in this topic, we'll take a detailed look at your system and make recommendations. Follow the instructions under To post a DxDiag report in [Posting Guidelines] Help! I'm Having Technical Problems and I Don't Know Why!?!. Run all of the graphics and sound tests you can before saving the report to a file. Also, if the manufacturer and exact model number of your PC aren't shown under 'System Information' (System Manufacturer and System Model) at the top of the report, also include that information in your post.
