Ok, here's the lowdown.
I recently got a new Mac... Mac 10.5.6 / Intel Core Duo. I had played quite a bit of Myst IV on my old computer, so I'm itching to restart the journey on my new Mac. Installation goes fine. When I click the Myst 4 APP the icon won't even show up. My dock acts like it is going to bounce open, but nothing. I read another post that talked about using Terminal, and I tried to follow those instructions. However, when I get to 'cd ubisoft' terminal says it can't find that path/directory. I don't know what I'm doing wrong...someone please help. Thank you! |

I never noticed, but his instructions skip a step. Here's what you should type:
cd / cd Applications cd Ubisoft cd "Myst IV" (or "cd Myst\ IV" without quotes) cd "Myst IV.app" (or "cd Myst\ IV.app" without quotes) If at any point you get a "directory not found" error, type "ls" to get a list of the files and folders in the directory you navigated to, look for the item that matches a folder/application that'll get you to where you're going, and type "cd <name of folder/file>". If the name of the folder or file contains a space, use a back slash ( \ ) before the space to delineate it so you don't get a "too many arguments" error. To the world, you are only one person. But to one person, you are the world. ~unknown |
