soljas not a beret. Hes not even in the military. hes a 14 year old little punk. Its been proven by moderators here who ARE ACTUALLY in the Army. Stop being a poser for something youll never be and grow up. saying your a Green beret which you know nothing about is taking away the honor of the men that are and have lost their lives in the line of duty.

You could be put in jail forever by saying your a green beret if you really were one. So I doubt you would.

Lemme jump in, Im a foreigner saying that right now, Now i understand what he means with the beret thing.. obviously you guys dont cause your to fast to pass judgement, Hes got it as a sig, he most likley heard it in a movie and thought it sounded nice, so he put that up. If you check his other posts its there also. Dont blaim him blaim the media. And Dont be to fast on passing judgement... Hes most likley admiering the Green Berets for what they do and who they are, So give him a break will ya, we all been young he will grow, and learn to put the qoute " mark on it. He asked if there were any soldiers playing then claimed to be one himself.

wiZaK, because you're a foreigner, I'll explain this. I can't speak directly for our SOF units, but generally speaking, those who qualify to tryout for Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Marine Force Recon etc, are few and far between. Of these who qualify, no more than 20% will actually graduate their respective course and make it onto a unit. Thus, actually making it can give major points in impressing people. And, because of the secretive nature of the groups, identifying operatives is difficult, if not impossible. Because of this, it is easy to lie to get jobs, pick up women, or even get unauthorized security clearance.

First off: Posers can be dangerous.

Second: To lie and say that you are one of these men when you are not is insulting to the real men who put themselves in harms way.

Third: Because of an uneducated public, a lot of people believe the usually loud, obnoxious, self-centered posers in their claims and project these negative images on the real SOF units who, in reality, are quiet professionals who rarely even admit that they were with an elite unit.

So, the reason people who say things like "I am a Green Beret..." is that posers are everywhere, and basically, we can't stand them any more than a BTDT soldier!
